Why does my dirt bike waste so much gas so fast?

I have a 2008 Honda crf 450r. And i was just wondering if they are supposed to eat so much gas or not? The tank usually only lasts about 2 to 2 1/2 hours of non stop riding. Is this normal or is there a problem with the bike? What should I do to fix it?
