Can i request to be put under hypnosis?

I have Kaiser Permanente health insurance through my dad because of his work my question is if i can idk talk to a psychiatrist or something i have been seen by a psychologist before but never talked about somthing in particular that I've never told anyone ever...would being put under hypnosis make me remember something from when i was about 5 yrs old??? its something i feel i have to do and hope that what i 'remember" isn't true...has anyone ever done this? has it worked?? thanks in advance
